5/2/2018 – DeKalb, IL | Forward Cody Radman has committed to Northern Illinois University for the fall of 2018 and to NIU Hockey for the 2018-2019 season.
Radman previously played for Naperville Central High School and chose to commit to NIU for multiple reasons.
“I’m excited to meet new friends, continue with my hockey and continue with my school,” the 18-year-old said.
The 6’0”, 190 lbs. forward is a physical, hardworking player who models his game after Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews.
“[Toews] supports all his teammates and he’s always making great plays out there. I try to be just like him,” the Naperville, IL native said.
Radman faced a difficult time in his hockey career a few years ago and considers overcoming it one of his greatest accomplishments in the game.
“My sophomore year of high school, I had a major surgery and I was out of hockey for about three months,” Radman said. “It was exciting to train and recover and get back to where I was before.”
Radman hopes to continue to develop his game during his time with the Huskies.
“I want to become a better player, hopefully, make it to the DII level eventually and develop further,” Radman said.
