Game one saw the Missouri Tigers come out strong and determined to clinch a playoff spot with needing two more wins to make the playoffs. That on their minds, the Tigers really put it to the Huskies scoring 6 goals in only the first two periods. Despite all this, the Huskies outshot the Tigers 43 to 38. The Tigers won the game 6-3. Chris Imber delivered his best performance of the season having 1 goal, and 2 assists. Tommy Hogan also added his first collegiate goal, and Senior forward John Lyne added 2 assists. In net was Senior Tim Benham , as he stopped 32 of 38 shots on goal
Going into game two the Huskies would have to really step up and show more will. The Huskies did put in a great performance in the first two periods of the game. Outplaying the Tigers handedly, but would be down 3-2 going into the third period. To begin the third, the Tigers would start off on a power play and never looked back. They would add three more goals in the period to a 6-2 win over the Huskies. NIU senior goaltender Brandon Colello stopped 37 of 43 shots on goal. The NIU offense would come from the experienced laden line of Peter Alfano, Chris Bednarek, and Mike Sible. Sible, a sophomore Business major, had 1 goal and 1 assist. Bednarek had 1 goal, and Alfano added 1 assist.
