5/5/17 – DeKalb, IL | Goaltender Thomas Terrance has committed to Northern Illinois University for the fall of 2017 and to NIU Hockey for the 2017-18 season.

Terrance posted a .925 save percentage and a 4.50 goals against average in 20 games played for the Minnesota Jr. Owls of the MnJHL.

The Naperville, IL native plays a hybrid, aggressive style in net and models his game after Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price.

The 6’1”, 205 lbs. netminder chose NIU for two main reasons.

“[NIU is a] good program for my major and [I’ve] heard good things about the school/hockey program,” Terrance said.

The 22-year-old’s greatest accomplishment in hockey thus far in his career is playing in a Junior A Tier 2 league in Canada.

The accounting major hopes to do two main things during his future time with NIU Hockey.

“[I hope to] keep developing my game and playing the sport I love,” Terrance said.
