11/13/2012 – Dekalb, IL – The D3 Huskies struggled this past weekend at the Robert Morris University Showcase as they were defeated by Robert Morris University-White 8-0 on Friday, Robert Morris University-Springfield 7-0 on Saturday and Robert Morris University-Black 6-1 on Sunday. However, after talking with D3 assistant captain, JC Weems, there is a sense of optimism that surrounds the team despite the recent outcomes.

“Right now it’s that one period that is dooming us. Once we learn to play a complete game I know we will start getting some wins and scoring more goals. We had a depleted roster this past weekend and that really hurt us. But we are starting to come together and gelling as a team, we are a young team and we are starting to get our wheels. Frankly, we are excited to go down to Edwardsville and play that complete game and score some goals and bring back some wins”.

The D3 Huskies will be on the road this upcoming weekend as they take on the Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville Cougars downstate on Friday and Saturday at the East Alton Ice Arena.
