Marks Commits to NIU for 2021-2022

Northern Illinois University Hockey is excited to announce the addition of Luke Marks to our 2021-2022 recruiting class. Marks, a 6’1” 181 lbs. forward from Andover, Minnesota previously playing for Dells Ducks.

Assistant GM Wayne Bower commented “I had the chance to watch Luke play a few times and what impressed me from the start was how he was always in the right spot.  His hockey IQ is extremely high which I knew would make him a great fit for the D1 team.  The other thing that struck me was the obvious leadership capability he had.  He played on a young team and it was evident in watching the games that the younger players looked to him for direction.

After speaking to him on the phone during a conf. call with Nick Madonia it was obvious that he had tremendous respect for the game and would be coming to Dekalb with a maturity level that was unlike most college freshmen.”

Marks stated, “I picked NIU because it’s the best fit for me academically and hockey wise, I’m most excited for the amazing campus.
