In the weekend’s second game the Huskies showed great character in coming back to defeat the Redbirds 4-3, after Friday Nights misfortune. Highlights came from goaltender Brandon Colello, who had 40 saves on 43 shots for a 93 save percentage. Also Mike Strumberger added 2 goals, and Greg Bahnsen scored the game winner for the Huskies in their Saturday win. Freshmen goaltender Kenny Schatz said, “The team as a whole played our best game of the season so far. Brandon Colello played phenomenal in net. The team really developed a lot this weekend.”
The Huskies will now be on the road the next three weekends as they will play the University of Iowa, University of Wisconsin, and Robert Morris College-Springfield consecutively. Their next home weekend will be NIU Greek Night on November 7th vs. Missouri State University.
