5/11/2018 – DeKalb, IL | Forward Elijah David has committed to Northern Illinois University for the fall of 2018 and to NIU Hockey for the 2018-2019 season.

David previously played for Midvalley Rampage High School.

The Bartlett, IL native chose to commit to NIU because of two reasons.

“I have friends on the team and it is a good place to start my education,” the 18-year-old said.

The 5’11”, 160 lbs. forward is a hardworking, fast skater who models his game after Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid.

David takes pride in having developed into the player he is today since he has only been playing for a handful of years.

“Getting to where I am now [is one of my greatest accomplishments],” David said. “I started playing my freshman year and I became captain of my team and it was really cool.”

David hopes to continue to progress as a player during his first season with the Huskies.

“I’ve been playing for four years only, so I’ve really been progressing,” David said. “But I want to get to another level, with even better players.”
