D1 Huskies Drop Pair of Games to MCH Foe McKendree

By Morgan Haga 2/9/19 Dekalb, IL – The D1 Huskies traveled to Lebanon, Illinois to take on McKendree University. The Huskies dropped the weekend, with scores Friday 2-7, and Saturday 1-6.

Friday night the Huskies were ready for a tough fight but McKendree scored first. Sophomore Zach Huggins got the Huskies on the board in the second period. The score ending the second period was 1-6. Unable to maintain the defense needed against McKendree, the Huskies fell 2-7 with the second goal by Rodahn Evans.

Goaltender Chad Dodero was in net saving 58 of 65 shots.

Saturday night the Huskies came back more determined but were still unable to find the back of the net. In the third period, Osman Cholak with the help of Noah Carlock and Austin Walny scored the Huskies goal to make the final score 1-6.

Goaltender Brian Eisele was in net saving 34 of 40 shots on goal.

Coach Rucinski mentioned he was very proud of the team this weekend. “The team battled throughout the game and continued to push.”

The D1 Huskies will be on the road for the next weekend in Bensenville, IL to take on Robert Morris University Illinois. Friday, February 14 and Saturday, February 15 at 7:30pm both nights at The Edge.
