D1 drops weekend series to Robert Morris

2/16/2020 DeKalb, IL – The D1 Huskies traveled to Bensenville, Illinois to take on Robert Morris University Illinois. Unfortunately, the Huskies fell both nights Friday 3-10 and Saturday1-6.

Friday night the Huskies came out hoping to win but the Eagles scored first and continued to raise the score. RMU started the game off less than a minute in and Hunter Wahl was able to tie it with 7 minutes left to go in the first period. Mason Ihrke was able to then pull the Huskies ahead ending the first period 2-1. Unfortunately, after the first period RMU continued to find the back of the net. Late in the third period, Tyler Gut was able to find the back of the net and the Huskies final score was 3-10. Goaltender Chad Dodero was in net saving 43 of 53 shots on goal.

Saturday night the Huskies came out strong and showed strong defense. The Eagles pushed through and scored. Senior Brad Krauser scored the Huskies goal in the final seconds and ended Saturday night’s game 1-6. Goaltender Brian Eisele was in net saving 39 of 45 shots.

The Huskies will be back on the road February 21 and 22 to take on Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri. Games will be 7:00pm both nights at Jordan Valley Ice Park.
